Donald Trump has been declared the next US President after securing more than 270 electoral college votes.
On Wednesday morning, shortly after 10.30am U.K. time, the Associated Press declared Trump had won the swing state of Wisconsin, taking his tally to 277 electoral votes. He will become the first convicted felon to hold office.
Earlier, a jubilant Trump appeared on stage in Florida to claim victory saying "America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate".
Keir Starmer has already tweeted his congratulations, saying: "I look forward to working with you in the years ahead."
Outside of the US presidential race, Republicans have won the US Seante - winning control of the chamber for the first time in four years.
